I would love to see Dumba in the Devils organization taking tip from Scotty Stevens that would be a match made in heaven

I know Boucher is high boom bust but each interview I watch of this kid makes me think he is going in the right direction fast he seems like a real pro. I watched his and Merril's interviews today and Merril just seems akward and not athletic more like one of those kids who has always been to good that they never trained or worked out I see him struggling to make it this year. You can tell why he has maturity issues but that's not to say I am not excited to see him develope but Boucher is blowing me away on and off the ice. He could be a real gem

Because Coyle and Granlund are not eligible for the list, it's pretty weak after Dumba.

Oh Merrill...suspended from school, loafing about, luckily he is one talented bastard and gifted with size and ability.

You can just tell by looking at him he has never had to work hard to get where he is. If he could pull it together he would be one hell of a player but I don't know if he has ever really taken anything seriously. Matteau comes off the same way to me. I mean he is a big power forward type but he just isn't the kind we need a guy I would love if Washington is still giving top prospects away is Tom Wilson that is the type of power forward prospect I would like to see the Devils get. Matteau to me seems more like he gets put in that category cause of his size but comes off as more of a punk or pest then someone who will just flat out run you over then beat you up if you don't like it

Matteau would be great if he didn't have the anger switch of a 15 year old budding psychopath. Still time though.

What do you think of Wilson I have always loved players like him as I was pretty high on Kassian I still remember that clip of him just destroying some kid trying to get a puck floating in the air then instantly getting up throwing his gloves off and beating the crap out of the guy who came flying in to his team mates defense

Also do you think he was the better pick over Pearson at the 29 pick ( I think it should of been forfeited) but was he the pick at that spot if the pick is being made which it was.

Good blog Adam, Thanks! At least someone takes the time to appease the handful of Minne fans left here on HB.

Wild went from arguably the top prospect pool to now a bare cupboard of sorts. Hoping Dumba can make the team this season, but I'm skeptical that Fletcher/Yeo will risk burning a year of his contract if they think he can further develop better in Red Deer.

If not for his ineligibility to play in the AHL, I'm guessing it would be an easy decision for the Wild.

Granlund is the player that will have the most to prove this season, he has not looked like the budding superstar that he was advertised to be with all the hype surrounding him after the Wild drafted him. He's had a difficult time transitioning to the North American game and rink sizes. Hope he doesn't turn out to be a bust. And by bust I mean anything short of 20-30 goals and 70+ points per season. Anything less after all the hype and he'll forever be considered by Wild fans the Finnish star that never was.

Np.

I agree, Dumba is with guys like Rielly and Grigorenko and previously Nino that aren't quite NHL ready but can't go to the AHL...they need a loophole for top competitors.

As for Granlund, you're right he does need a massive statement, size has always been a problem and that he likes to pick his spots on the perimeter. In my opinion the only thriving perimeter guys in the NHL right now are Patrick Kane (Skilled like nobody else and is at his best when he actually goes to the scoring areas) and PA Parenteau.

For Wild prospects, and every team's prospects for that matter, go see NHL Young Guns Daily on twitter @YoungGunsDaily. They give pretty good player comparables and future lineup projections. Check it out if you know alot about prospects.

Ah very good then. I am curious how is it you go about you're scouting ? Do you got to plenty of jr games? and do you pay for every hockey channel there is to get a good look on the euro prospects ? I am sure you can't give up to much info but I am just curious

I watch 25 MHL games live and 22 KHL games live. Check my TV for some Elitserien games or SM-liiga games when they come on. See some junior stuff (CHL) on hockeystreams. I write everything down game by game. Then I ask people I know on twitter like Huddle/Cordell/Rossy and others who follow other leagues more closely their opinions, formulate everything I can and try to paint the broad picture. I love to see the U18's and U20's when they get streamed too...though last one was hard because half the streams were in Swedish and I can only swear in that language.
